Juicy Couture is a line of casual and dressy apparel that is based in Los Angeles, California and was founded n 1994 by Pamela Skaist- Levy and Gela Nash – Taylor however it is now owned by the Liz Claiborne fashion company. Juicy couture is probably best known for its velour tracksuits along with other clothing and accessories, which it also produces for children and pets. The brand also boats an extensive line in men’s clothing although in the spring of 2009 it discontinued it’s men’s line named “Dirty English” The founders of the company slowly introduced more merchandise into their line up and in 1999 they introduced their range of denim named “Juicy Jeans.” It wasn’t until 2001 that they started to produce the infamous Velour Juicy Tracksuits that revolutionized the fashion world. Celebrities worldwide could not get enough of these trendy tracksuits, which where emblazoned with the Juicy logo, even the world renowned Madonna was credited with her own Juicy Tracksuit with the word “Madge” embroidered on it. Today the brand is as strong as ever and it is reported that Liz Claiborne sold $258 million worth of Juicy Couture merchandise within the first six months of 2008 despite the apparent worldwide recession.
