Johan Cruyff was a legendary Dutch Footballer widely regarded within the football community as one of the greatest players of all time, having won the world player of the year award on three separate occasions. He had an illustrious career playing for Spanish giants Barcelona. Upon retiring as a player Cruyff decided to launch his own sportswear label in 1979, with the philosophy to create stylish sportswear that would meet the technical needs of sportsmen. The styling of the trainers was a joint project between Cruyff himself and Italian designer Emilio Lazzarini. Today the Cruyff range of trainers and footwear includes several styles including the Vanenburg named after fellow Dutch footballer Gerald Vanenburg and the Classic range.
