55DSL in an Italian designer menswear label based in Vicenza, Italy. They produce a strong mens fashion collection including screen print t-shirts with varying logos and designs, plain and striped polo shirts, lightweight jackets and hoodies and both long and short sleeves check shirts. The brand was first formed in 1994 for the Autumn/Winter season of that year and was actually launched as an off shoot of the Diesel label, which was looking to create a more experimental line of fashion to sit alongside their mainline range. 55DSL now runs independently from Diesel with separate headquarters; however the creative director is Andrea Rosso who is the son of Diesel owner Renzo Russo. The name of the company was derived from the year of Russo’s birth and an abbreviation of the Diesel name.
